The War in Gaza and the Future of IMEC
摘要
More than 70 years of Israeli occupation and the resulting humiliation of Palestinians have given rise to various resistance groups, including Hamas within Palestine. Since October 7, 2023, when Hamas launched an incursion of southern Israel from the Gaza Strip, a bloody armed conflict ensued between Israel and Palestinian militant groups, led by Hamas. The Gaza war have stopped Israeli-Arab peace process called “Abraham Accords”. It also put off the initiatives such as the Indo-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC). This article takes a descriptive-analytical approach to examine the impact of the Gaza war on the future of the IMEC in light of current (2023–present) Gaza war. It maintains that the Gaza War will just postpone the IMEC project, not quite put away it, given that all Arab states in the Arabian Peninsula are within the US influence.
