This chapter focuses on the role of virtual training platforms (VTPs) in improving efficiency in preparing for space in organizations. Thanks to VTPs, the article examines how introducing innovative VTPs can significantly alter conventional training methods, overcoming spatial and logistic constraints while ensuring resource efficiency. The study highlights the substantial cost savings and enhanced training results by reviewing case studies across industries, such as incorporating virtual reality in e-learning formats. According to the study, organizations that adopted virtual reality (VR) for their training decreased their need for physical training centres by 70% while maintaining or improving training effectiveness. Based on the previous section, we explicitly analyse various aspects (particularly for space tourism organizations), which play a fundamental role in the formation of the VTP, revealing eight categories or domains of importance: regulatory compliance, technical challenges, financial efficiency, scalability, psychological readiness, distributed project team collaboration, sustainability, and post-mission feedback loops. The results indicate that VTPs provide a more sustainable, scalable, and practical training delivery solution compared to traditional training delivery mechanisms while simplifying innovation and growth opportunities. The chapter also explores obstacles to implementation, such as barriers to technological literacy and infrastructural costs, proposing strategies for mitigation. With companies increasingly shifting to a projected 8B$ space tourism industry as a benchmark target by 2030, these results highlight the potential value of such techniques and provide relevant insights for organizations who wish to mitigate the impact of training costs and increase their training efficiency on virtual platforms whilst maintaining the quality and consistency of their astronaut training both from a safety and competency perspective.
