Thank God that the seventh year of the second decade began with much felicity and joy on Monday, the first day of Jumada II 1053 [August 17, 1643], corresponding to the 25th of Amurdad. Exhilaration enjoyed a field day, and delight filled all hearts. On this date Sayyid Khan Jahan came with his sons from his fief in Gwalior to pay homage and offer a thousand mohurs as an ex-voto. He was awarded a royal robe, and each of his sons, Sayyid Sher Zaman and Sayyid Munawwar, was given an elephant. Mir Ja‘far Musawi Mashhadi was given 1,500 rupees.
