Praise God that on Thursday, the first day of Jumada II 1052 [August 27, 1642], corresponding to the 5th of Shahrewar, the sixth auspicious year of the second decade of the reign, which was the dawn of the days of success and beginning of the months of happiness, began at the most auspicious of hours, and rejoicing and celebration lit up all hearts and minds. On this date Abdullah Khan Bahadur Firoz-Jang was made governor of Allahabad in succession to Sayyid Shaja‘at Khan, and the sayyid was appointed jagirdar of the parganas of Erach, Bhander, Panwari, and other districts in the sarkar of Islamabad [Chhapra] in succession to the aforementioned khan. Sayyid Jalal Bukhari was given five thousand rupees.
