Speech Recognition System for Indian Sign Language in Marathi Context

There are many sign languages developed globally. American Sign Language is popularly used all over the world. In India, ISL along with ASL is used for communication with the deaf and mute. Sign language consists of representation of alphabets, numbers, digits, and words. Indian Sign Language (ISL) launched 3000 terms in March 2018. There are different Sign Languages with little difference at regional level. In this paper, Indian Sign Language representation of Marathi Alphabets and a system for normal subjects to communicate with the deaf and mute is presented. The proposed system is useful for normal subjects to communicate with Deaf and Mute. In this system, the normal subjects can use word speech and the system will convert the uttered word to the corresponding sign language image/video for the Deaf and Mute. For a normal subject, Deaf and Mute who knows sign language, software identifies sign language and converts the sign language into image and video.
