This study investigates the use of Calcined Clay (CC) as a Supplementary Cementitious Materials (SCM) in mortar to enhance sustainability and performance. The material characterization of calcined clay sourced from Rajasthan, India was examined using XRD and FTIR. Further, an experimental program was conducted to evaluate the effects of Calcined Clay (CC) on the properties of mortar mixes, focusing on consistency, setting times, and compressive strength. Mortar mixes with varying percentages of CC replacements (0, 10, 15, and 20%) were prepared, cured for 28 days, and tested. Compressive Strength tests indicated that replacing cement with 15% Calcined Clay (CC) improved its strength by 25% (from 20 to 25 MPa). The findings highlight the potential of Calcined Clay (CC) to enhance the performance and sustainability of mortar, making it a viable option for more efficient and eco-friendly construction practices.

摘要
