Study of Players’ User Experience During Gameplay Using Different Types of Soundtracks
摘要
This paper presents an analysis of literature concerning methods for dynamically creating soundtracks in video games. Various types of soundtracks in video games have been characterized. Two methods for dynamic soundtrack creation were developed: an adaptive method using horizontal resequencing and a generative method using Markov chains. The selected methods for dynamic soundtrack creation were implemented in a game, which was used to conduct a user experience study with participants regarding their preferred soundtrack. The aim of the study is a preliminary study of players’ user experience during gameplay using different types of soundtracks. The obtained research results were presented and analyzed, and conclusions were made.
