Applications and Security Challenges in Cyber-Physical Systems
摘要
In the rapidly advancing realm of technology, the convergence of the physical and digital worlds through Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) has marked a significant evolution in how we interact with and control our environment. These systems, embodying the intricate integration of computational algorithms and physical components, are pivotal in a myriad of applications ranging from critical infrastructure and healthcare to smart cities and autonomous transportation. This paper investigated some major applications of Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) applications across a wide range of domains such as Industrial Automation and Manufacturing, Smart Grids and Energy Systems, Healthcare and Medical Devices. Moreover, this unique blend of physical processes with digital control systems in CPS introduces complex security challenges that span both the cyber and physical realms. We outline the key aspects of security in CPS context, including threats, vulnerabilities, and strategies for mitigation. In this study, we delved into these challenges in detail, covering aspects from technical hurdles to security, regulatory, societal, and environmental concerns.
