Improving Efficiency in Industry 4.0 Automation Environment Through a Unified Interface for Interoperability Between NETCONF and OPC UA
摘要
Networking infrastructures play a vital role in Industry 4.0 realization. To enable a unified automation framework in Industry 4.0, where the industrial applications and networking infrastructures are to be managed by a unified automation and management framework, it is essential to enable seamless integration of network configuration protocol (NETCONF) and open platform communications unified architecture (OPC UA). NETCONF is a configuration protocol for network devices, whereas OPC UA is a platform-independent standard for the communication of industrial automation devices. This research presents a NetConf2OPC UA Adapter framework for achieving interoperability between NETCONF and OPC UA, thus allowing the efficient management of both industrial automation applications and network devices through a unified interface. The adapter contributes to the advancement of Industry 4.0, which enhances the efficiency and effectiveness of industrial automation systems.
