This study looks at how CEO characteristics (age, gender, education, duality, tenure, and career horizon) affect company risk-taking and performance. This study aims to explore the relationship between each CEO’s characteristics and company performance, as well as corporate risk-taking, by reviewing a collection of 27 previous studies. According to the findings of these research, the CEO’s attributes influence performance, which suggests that the CEO’s age significantly affects corporate success due to their wealth of experience and in-depth knowledge of the market. Additionally, a single individual holding the dual roles of CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors improves the capacity to make strategic choices that impact business success. The findings also demonstrated that company risk-taking is influenced by the traits of the CEO. It allows elderly CEOs to adopt a more cautious stance. In order to preserve their reputation and job security, CEOs with a lengthy career horizon also steer clear of dangerous choices.

This study looks at how CEO characteristics (age, gender, education, duality, tenure, and career horizon) affect company risk-taking and performance.
