Design, Fabrication and Performance Evaluation of a Low-Cost CNC Engraving Machine for Small-Scale Precision Machining Applications
摘要
Traditional machining processes, including lathe, milling, and drilling, have long been associated with high operational costs. The transition to CNC machines, while offering automation, often adds to the financial burden. In this context, our paper presents a solution in the form of a low-cost engraving machine designed for precise pattern drawing on a wide range of materials, including acrylic, PCBs, and wood. This innovative machine not only offers substantial cost savings but also significantly enhances productivity, occupying minimal space, and ensuring unparalleled precision. It efficiently reduces production time, requires minimal labor input due to its user-friendly design, and effectively minimizes material wastage. In summary, the machine was designed initially with the help of SolidWorks and then the simulation study was conducted through Ansys to check the load bearing capacity of the machine. Overall, the low-cost, high-performance engraving machine presented in this paper holds the potential to reshape manufacturing practices for small-scale industries, offering a budget-friendly and efficient solution for enhancing precision and efficiency in pattern drawing across a variety of applications.
