In this paper, a composite highly absorbent sand fixing material of xanthan gum grafted polyacrylic acid/bentonite was prepared by aqueous solution polymerisation using xanthan gum (XG), acrylic acid (AA) and bentonite (LOESS) as raw materials, ammonium persulphate (APS) as initiator and diethylenetriamine (DETA) as cross-linking agent. The experimental results show that the monomer mass ratio m(XG):m(AA) = 1:7.5, ammonium persulfate mass fraction 1.2%, acrylic acid neutralization degree of 30%, the polymerization temperature of 70 ℃, bentonite mass fraction of 0.9%, sand fixing material of the viscosity, fluidity, product appearance and quiescent stability, etc., are better; sand fixing material in the 120 ℃ under the thermal stability is good, water retention and compressive strength to meet the requirements of actual Water retention and compressive strength can meet the requirements of actual sand fixing application. As the water retention performance of the high absorbent resin sand fixer still has more room for improvement, so further screening of environmentally friendly water-absorbent materials and synthetic high absorbent resins are compounded to improve their water retention, and finally a new high absorbent resin sand fixer reinforced with CMC is obtained. The new highly absorbent sand fixing material curing layer, wind erosion resistance, compressive strength have been improved, and can be completely degraded to the environment without secondary pollution, is a new type of “green” sand fixing materials.
