Laser shock processing (LSP), as an efficient post-treatment technique, is utilized to improve the mechanical properties of selective laser melted (SLM) alloys. LSP technology has been shown to effectively enhance the fatigue resistance, crack resistance, and corrosion resistance of SLM materials by inducing beneficial residual compressive stress. In addition, LSP not only increases the microhardness of the material but also enhances its tensile strength, thereby extending the service life of the component. Studies on Ti6Al4V alloy and 316L stainless steel demonstrate that LSP not only improves the surface hardness of materials but also enhances wear resistance and strength through grain refinement. These performance improvements are primarily attributed to the high-pressure shock waves generated during the LSP process, which affect the microstructure of the material. This paper reviews the research progress of LSP in improving the mechanical properties of SLM parts in recent years and examines the technical principles of LSP, with particular emphasis on its effects on residual stress, microhardness, and tensile properties.

摘要
