Augmented reality (AR) is a cutting-edge technology that facilitates users’ interaction with computer-generated three-dimensional virtual objects and the real world in real-time applications. In recent years, the education sector has been interested in utilizing AR to enhance traditional learning methods. A study was conducted to explore the potential of AR in education, focusing on the familiarity and usefulness of AR game applications. During the study, 67 middle school students were introduced to a captivating AR game-based application known as CodAR. To gauge their acceptance of AR technology, the students were evaluated and asked to provide feedback on their satisfaction with the application. Interestingly, the findings revealed that most students needed to gain experience with AR applications. However, they expressed high enthusiasm for integrating AR into education, providing positive feedback. The study supports the integration of AR in education to enhance students’ educational experiences. AR technology can potentially revolutionize the teaching and understanding of coding concepts for school students. By incorporating AR technology into school education, educators can create immersive learning experiences to help students better understand complex coding concepts. Furthermore, the study emphasizes the importance of introducing new and innovative technologies in the classroom to keep students engaged and motivated. AR technology can animate abstract ideas, enhancing the interactivity and engagement of students in the learning process. It also aids in developing computational thinking, critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills essential for students’ future success.
