An Overview of Cloud Computing and the Internet of Things (IoT) in Health Care

The fusion of cloud computing and the Internet of things has transformed the healthcare industry with potential real-time data-driven monitoring of patients and quick delivery of health care. This paper is designed to provide an overview that yields insights into the role that convergence of cloud computing and IoT plays in the health sector while focusing on a range of applications, including remote patient monitoring, telemedicine, and smart hospitals. The sheer volume of data captured by IoT devices, health trackers, and sensors, as well as other varieties, is transmitted to the cloud to be warehoused and analyzed to respond with precision. Scalability combined with the real-time processing offered by cloud computing leads to such opportunities as reduced cost of operations, increased access, and improved patient results compared to those of the vendors. Reviewing recent progress in IoT and cloud computing technologies, examining their integration, and trying to explore technical architectures that underpin such innovations, this paper also addresses the kinds of security and privacy concerns that emerge from the storage and transmission of sensitive health data: possible solutions like blockchain and machine learning for more significant security. Moreover, this paper addresses the current challenges, namely data privacy regulation, interoperability, and network scalability, along with future research directions mentioning the plausible use of 5G, AI-driven analytics, and blockchain in IoT-cloud health care. It will take the form of providing valuable insights on what the next step will be toward making a reality of a new healthcare scenario with the help of Internet of things and cloud computing technologies.
