Applications of the Internet of Things on Agriculture: Review and Future Apple Fruit Comprehensive Automation System
摘要
An increase in the population has resulted in a significant increase in the amount of strain that is being placed on farms. This decade is seeing a movement from traditional methods to the most cutting-edge ones, which is coming about due to the development of technologies. There has been a significant improvement in both the quality and quantity of the agricultural sector due to the Internet of Things (IoT). To maximize the use of available resources, hybridization of species and real-time inspection of farms laid the groundwork for resource optimization. Academics, academic institutions, academics, and most countries worldwide are moving toward implementing and managing collaborations to explore the horizon of this area to benefit humanity. There is a race in the IT business to produce higher optimum solutions. This study first provides an overview of the IoT architecture in agriculture, including components, types, and tasks. Next, it discusses the primary IoT hardware platforms utilized in development, whether software or equipment. After that, significant advances in agriculture were made based on management, control, monitoring systems, and unmanned machines, followed by the challenges, gaps, and future direction. Finally, the Proposed IoT-Apple Orchard Framework (PIAOF) is a new vision for comprehensive automation systems based on advanced IoT technologies and robotics, covering primary apple fruit operations to improve quality, production, and sustainable development.
