The consolidation of the communicative and digital phenomenon called post-truth spreads educational backgrounds and its participants. The main interest of this article is to analyze this phenomenon in the context of Colombian education. For this, we start from the definition of post-truth as a situation related to political discourse and its fundamental interlocutor: public opinion; and its relationship with the media is also analyzed, since they acquire an increasingly decisive role in the dissemination of ideologies and political interests and in the configuration of political identities and subjectivities. It begins with a brief historical overview of what has been understood by “truth” from Greek, Nietzschean and Gadamerian philosophy, and then leads to a focus, through the Foucauldian tool of regimes of truth, on the relationship between truth, politics and the media, since not uncommonly current politics resorts to concealing and manipulating reality in a dramatic way.
