One way to improve the ability of columns to withstand lateral loads is by installing jackets. In this study, two reinforced concrete columns were tested. The first column is a normal column, and the second column is a column with an additional jacket made of 6 mm wire mesh and self-compacting concrete. Both specimens were then tested with cyclic load based on the provisions stipulated in SNI 7834:2012 with displacement control method. The use of 6 mm wire mesh and self-compacting concrete as a jacket for reinforced concrete columns can increase column strength against lateral loads by up to 41% and increase column stiffness by up to 47%.
