Taman Sari areas in Yogyakarta become a heritage tourism that have a special history as a royal garden. Today the area around of Taman Sari has been developed as an urban village and transformed over time. For sustainable human settlement in urban village that have historical value and for improving the welfare of local communities, cultural heritage tourism can be an alternative for tourism development in this area. This study identifies the physical quality and creative economy space around Taman Sari area. This study was conducted by a qualitative descriptive method. Result of the study show that three key elements of the cultural heritage tourism experience, namely: to experience the history, culture, and people of a place can be fulfilled by the Taman Sari area to support sustainable cultural heritage tourism.
