A 30-year-old male patient came to the emergency department with a history of fever, shortness of breath for 3 days, and alteration in sensorium since morning. He was in respiratory distress with a respiratory rate of 34/min. He was drowsy (Glasgow coma score 8) and febrile (102 °F). His pulse was 110/min and blood pressure was 116/78 mmHg. He was immediately intubated and put on assisted ventilation.
