Expanded polystyrene, also known as EPS, is defined as a cellular and rigid plastic material composed mostly of air, which is characterized by its closed cellular structure. This structure gives it a series of exceptional properties, such as excellent thermal and acoustic insulation, lightness, strength and durability. Due to these properties of the material, it becomes attractive for applications in construction, packaging and, in addition, being recyclable, makes it an increasingly attractive option in a context of growing concern for the environment.
