A 7-month-old female infant was diagnosed with tachycardia-induced cardiomyopathy due to coughing, wheezing, and shortness of breath. She still had intermittent coughing, wheezing, and sweating after symptomatic treatment. The child also had a significant choking cough after eating. In order to rule out the possibility of foreign bodies in the airway, elective fiberoptic bronchoscopy under intravenous anesthesia was scheduled. In addition to the shared airway issue during fiberoptic bronchoscopy, it was also very important to control the ventricular rate and prevent heart failure through medication in this child with tachycardia-induced cardiomyopathy.
