A 4-month-old female infant was admitted to our hospital due to a large tumor found in the abdominal cavity. Preoperative echocardiography indicated spherical dilation of the left ventricle, left atrium enlargement, left ventricular myocardial tissue decrease, and left ventricular contractility reduction, suggesting dilated cardiomyopathy. Retroperitoneal tumor resection under general anesthesia was scheduled. The key of anesthetic management is to maintain stable hemodynamics, improve cardiac contractility, maintain stroke volume and cardiac output, and ensure appropriate volume load to maintain organ function.
