A 2-year-old boy was found with a left ventricular tumor by echocardiography due to a heart murmur heard during a physical examination. The tumor was successfully removed under general anesthesia and cardiopulmonary bypass support. Biological protein glue (Beixiu glue) was applied to the surgical suture site during hemostasis. Blood pressure suddenly dropped to a minimum of 50/30 mm Hg after the sternum was closed, which was accompanied by an airway peak pressure increase and SpO2 decrease. We suspected that acute anaphylactic shock induced by biological protein glue occurred. The treatment principles of this case include ventilation support, rapid fluid infusion, positive inotropic drug use, and avoidance of cardiac and other important organ dysfunctions.
