Airborne platform (or elevated platform) communication refers to the use of various near-Earth spacecraft loaded with radio communication equipment or systems to achieve antenna electric communication between ground stations (stations) or between networks. It is a means of over-the-horizon, large-area communications and emergency communications, and actually converts over-the-horizon communications into over-the-horizon communications by means of elevated antennas, generally working in the VHF, UHF and microwave frequency bands. Although the construction and maintenance of airborne communication platforms are more complicated, they are smaller in investment, lower in cost and more flexible than satellite communication systems.
