Enhancing Child Patient Management: An Evaluation of Cloud-Based Solutions for Streamlining Patient Histories, Appointment Scheduling, and Vaccination Notifications
摘要
This is a research paper into the development of a cloud-based e-health information system that is supposedly to change the face of pediatric health care. The system proposed here attempts to address one of the most crucial and critical needsnamely, fast access to important information concerning the child patientin case of an emergency that may accelerate or ensure medical interventions that could save lives. The telehealth features included in this system allow for the real-time monitoring of chronic conditions from any remote location, allowing healthcare providers to track improvements in patients and make appropriate decisions about the needed treatment interventions. The system further streamlines administrative work through automated appointment booking and communication with patients while removing inefficiencies and providing health professionals with more direct patient care time. Another feature of the system is proactive health management, aspects of which include design features that automatically provide vaccinations and health-screening remindersfactors that could instigate greater family participation in preventive care. This holistic approach develops better quality care for pediatric patients and ultimately improves health outcomes. Agile development methodologies ensure constant incorporation of user feedback during development, thereby ensuring usability and enhancing effectiveness in systems. This study depicts that there is a need to take advantages of available technologies in treating children’s care and health conditions in preparation for future pediatric innovations and as an example to a continuous improvement process in the provision of healthcare.
