Sustainability in Cloud Computing: How Green Data Centers and Efficient Cloud Operations Are Reducing the Environmental Impact of Technology
摘要
This research focuses on how green data centers and efficient cloud operations have been addressed in an attempt to mitigate the effects of technological advancement of the environment. Through comparing the efficiency of energy use, the level of carbon emissions, and resource utilization in several global data centers, we evidence massive progress in making the cloud greener. The findings of our studies show that data centers with green technology used 20% less energy and cut carbon emissions by 15% than traditional data centers. Furthermore, new high-level virtualization technologies were applied and led to the increase of resources usage efficiency by 25%. The paper includes benchmarking with similar work to demonstrate that despite following best practice in current activities, there could be possible improvements regarding more reduction of carbon and better utilization of resources. A significant focus is made of the integration of technologies like blockchain and AI on green cloud platforms in relation to the support of sustainability. From this research therefore it is evident that there is a need for improvement and development of better cloud computing strategies toward enhancing environmental sustainability.
