As the world becomes more urbanized and developed consumption rates are on the rise. An inevitable consequence of more consumption is the rapid increase in the amount of solid waste that is produced. This study analysed domestic waste disposal activities in Odogbolu local government area of Ogun State, Nigeria. Multistage sampling procedure was used to select 30 respondents from major dumpsites in Odogbolu local government area of Ogun State. Questionnaire and Personal interview were used to obtain primary data on the socio-economic characteristics of the respondents, identify methods of waste disposal system, the perception of residents on waste disposal practices, the effect of domestic waste disposal on the environment and health of respondents. Data were analyzed using frequency counts, percentages. Results showed that 56.7%of the respondents were female, 33.3% of the respondents were between age range of 21–45 years, and 40% were subsistence farmers. Method of waste disposal was that each household had a solid waste disposal system (75% of the respondents). About 42% and majority (92%) of the respondents agreed that lack of proper pollution control and use of devices contributed to poor waste disposal practices and caused disease outbreak. The study therefore recommended Government should provide refuse receptacles in large quantities and place them at interval of not more than 200 m apart in both residential and commercial areas.
