Solid waste management is an important area of concern in developing economies due to its impact on health and hygiene. However, we could not find any notable study on solid waste management in the context of Pakistan. This chapter takes into account different factors which are associated with solid waste management in Pakistan. This chapter has utilized the latest nationally representative household survey, i.e. Pakistan Social and Living Standards Measurement Survey data. The prime objective of the chapter is to illustrate the households’ willingness to manage solid waste, precisely their willingness to pay for garbage disposal. Thus, the chapter has utilized Hackman’s two-step procedure to achieve the objective. The empirical outcomes confirm that region, household income, education, age and type of service provider (public or private) are the significant factors associated with willingness to pay for solid waste disposal from their neighbour-hood. The study offers a few interesting policy insights to improve solid waste disposal practices in Pakistan.
