The paper discloses the development of a multiprotocol IoT-based gateway capable of performing monitoring and control applications, along with the associated method. The system consists of an IoT-based monitoring/control system with a multi-protocol gateway and a plurality of IoT nodes. The IoT nodes are interfaced with sensors for sensing various parameters and actuators for controlling devices within a predetermined area in an IoT environment. The system connects through multiple connectivity solutions, such as Zigbee, LoRa, WiFi, and Bluetooth. The gateway integrates these wireless connectivity solutions and routes packets between IoT nodes and external cloud/user HMIs. The plurality of IoT nodes with different wireless connectivity solutions can send messages to each other via the designed gateway and software stack. The system also allows the nodes to send broadcast messages between each other. The software stack deployed at the IoT gateway forwards messages between nodes connected with different wireless solutions present under the IoT Gateway.

摘要
