Research on Injury to Hybrid III 50th Percentile Dummy Based on FMVSS 208 Test
摘要
This study rigorously adheres to the FMVSS 208 standard by conducting 30° left and right offset collision tests, as well as direct frontal collision tests, on the same vehicle model under unbelted conditions. The primary objective is to accurately assess the vehicle’s crashworthiness and meticulously monitor the extent of injuries sustained by the front-row passenger and the driver across various body regions. Test results reveal that vehicle damage is particularly severe in the 100% frontal collision scenario, with injury metrics for the front-row passenger dummy generally exceeding those of the driver dummy in this type of collision. Consequently, in real-world traffic accidents where a vehicle strikes a building or another vehicle at a specific angle, it is essential to prioritize emergency care and conduct thorough examinations of the head, chest, and knees of front-row passengers while also enhancing safety measures for front-row occupants.
