This chapter explores ASEAN's role as a cooperative, open, and innovative economic partner, emphasizing its increasing significance in China-ASEAN economic relations. The analysis is structured into four key areas. First, ASEAN is examined as a model for e-commerce cooperation, driven by digitalization and cross-border synergy. The rapid growth of digital trade and technological collaboration has strengthened China-ASEAN economic ties. Second, ASEAN is analyzed as a regional trade hub, characterized by openness, mutual benefit, and economic integration, playing a pivotal role in global and regional supply chains. Third, the chapter highlights ASEAN’s importance as a hub for connectivity and regional infrastructure collaboration, particularly in transportation, logistics, and energy projects supported by initiatives such as the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Lastly, ASEAN is discussed as a technological hub fostering green transition, focusing on clean energy, sustainable development, and innovation-driven partnerships. By examining these aspects, the chapter provides a comprehensive perspective on ASEAN’s economic potential and its evolving partnership with China in the digital, trade, infrastructure, and sustainability sectors.
