A Contemporary Approach to Study Future Potential of Digital Interventions in Tourist Experiences for Heritage Sites
摘要
Today, tourism significantly boosts the national economy, enticing people to explore within the country. India’s rich cultural and historical heritage remains a significant draw for tourists, with a focus on exploring ancient monuments and traditional art forms. Heritage sites serve as magnets for tourists, providing glimpses into the past, fostering cultural understanding, and contributing significantly to tourism destination’s economic and social aspects. With the growing trends of technology implemented, new paths have unfolded presenting fresh opportunities for exploration and enhancement in the industry. To improve overall user experience, this research paper discusses the digital interventions used to examine a modern approach to viewing heritage sites. This study talks about the evolving nature of historic tourism and how technology might improve the experience by looking at different interventions that affect visitor interaction, satisfaction, connection, and cultural understanding. Through the use of advanced technologies such as virtual reality, augmented reality, interactive displays, and similar design solutions, visitors may form deeper connections with the cultural legacy embedded in these locations. The study also emphasizes how important these digital interventions are for maintaining valuable cultural assets. To preserve heritage sites and ensure future generations can continue to appreciate and engage with them as a dynamic centre of cultural interchange, sustainable approaches must be used for their conservation and revitalization. It proposes using digital technologies to protect and reinvigorate these sites. For this, a case study of a study tour in Cambodia, a well-known nation for its historical relevance related to India and cultural richness offers knowledge of the current tourist experience with personal testimonies and valuable insights. Further, the paper discusses modern techniques for continued artistic and scientific endeavors to enrich visitor experiences, in addition to improving the experience, and opening doors for future attempts, guaranteeing that every visit is better than the previous.
