Technologies like Augmented Reality, Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Reality are increasingly dominating the fashion retail industry with both offline and online business offering immersive and personalized experiences like virtual try-ons, filters, product visualizations and digital fashion. E-commerce is booming in contemporary times owing to its ease of accessibility, availability and affordability. These platforms are constantly implementing new strategies like personalization and customization to engage their users. Multiple e-commerce platforms have attempted to provide customization services in regard to beauty, fashion details and accessories, however, in terms of personalized suggestions for styling, there is no such existing feature. This study investigates consumer preferences and challenges through a survey questionnaire with e-commerce consumers. The survey questionnaire analysis enabled us to understand the factors that need to be considered when designing solutions for a personalized styling feature that can be implemented in current e-commerce platforms. We then developed an architecture of the feature to improve the user interface. This feature facilitates users to receive personalized styling suggestions based on the information they input into the app feature, such as their body type, personal style, color preferences and occasion. The output of the feature would be in the form of style boards, which will enhance the overall user experience of the consumers on the online shopping platforms.
