The rapid advancement of science and technology has impacted various aspects of human society. Digital technology is progressively integrated into several traditional art areas, enhancing artistic vision, content, and creativity. Printmaking art also evolves with the times, and in today’s context, incorporating digital technology can simplify the process of creating prints, reducing traditional printmaking’s complexity and time-consuming nature without diminishing the original intent of artistic print. However, digital experimental printmaking is not widely practised in India. This research paper investigates the transformative impact of digital printmaking on conventional printmaking practice, discovering creative and innovative possibilities. Digital technology can revolutionise traditional printmaking techniques, redefining the creative landscape and challenging conventional boundaries. Through literature review, field study, and hands-on experiments, this paper examines the potentiality of digital technology, which can take printmaking into comprehensive practice. The study includes reflectivity on practice-based research. The authors created artwork using computer software and electrical machinery and described software applications, working procedures, software learning problems, and advantages. In addition, the researchers conducted semi-structured interviews with art professionals to understand their views on incorporating digital techniques in their conventional printmaking practice. This research sheds light on the dynamic evolution of printmaking in the digital age and its implications for the future of creative practice. The study concludes that modern printing equipment allows printmakers to create high-impact, high-quality works with more artistic content.
