The lack of accessibility and equal opportunities for persons with disabilities in sports, leads to unfair discrimination, limited choices, loss of motivation, and exclusion. This research paper aims to present an evidence-based research findings about making games and sports accessible along with the supporting infrastructure. The research study is divided into two parts: a literature study and a field study for identification and investigation. The author conducted an extensive literature study, followed by a field study engaging persons with disabilities from various organizations from Bhopal. This involved conducting semi-structured interviews with various stakeholders that validated the findings derived from the secondary study. Also, a study was conducted to assess the accessibility of International sports, International physical games, Traditional Indian sports, and Indian traditional games for visually impaired persons. These sports were rated on six parameters such as assistive technology, rule adaptations, safety, player enjoyment, ease of use, and independence. The data was consolidated by the author and converted into a rating matrix focusing on one disability type (visually impaired). The major findings suggest lack of accessibility in traditional Indian games, emphasizing the need for inclusive design. Additionally, the research paper emphasizes on the effectiveness of assistive technology in making the sports inclusive.
