Optimizing Sleep and Recovery with Nanotech Interventions
摘要
Nanotechnology has transformed sports by enhancing athletes’ skills and ensuring their safety. With the use of nanotechnology, sports equipment might be made to precisely match each athlete’s physiological and performance needs. Sleep is the most vital recovery strategy used by both elite and sub-elite athletes. Athletes’ schedules could have a detrimental effect on their sleep and recovery and the rigorous and repeated nature of a competitive season can also put their bodiesBody and minds to the test, which emphasizes the importance of getting enough good sleep. Emerging technologies like nanoscale therapies and nano devices help speed up the recovery process for injured athletes. Wearable sleep sensors monitor movement, heart rate, and heart rate variability (HRV) as indicators of sleep–wake cycles using actigraphy. These gadgets can help athletes who participate in high-intensity aerobic sports, like swimming and cycling, balanceBalance their resistance training regimens with good sleep hygiene, enabling enough time for rest and recovery. Novel approaches like targeted melatonin delivery systemsDelivery systems (nano-based) and therapies based on nanomaterials optimize recovery by targeting hormonal and inflammatory pathways. Nanotechnology also create wearable exoskeletons or suits which assists athletes in returning to their pre-injury states, lowers the injury risk, thus improving the overall performance.
