Maximising Project Sustainability: The Children and Nature Outdoor Learning Programme in England
摘要
This chapter summarises the learning report from the Children and Nature programme in England, with the aim of sharing the learning from a large, government-funded programme that involved three different approaches to outdoor learning: supporting schools to integrate outdoor learning into their everyday offer; forest and woodland outreach activities; and care farming. We first describe the different projects that made up the programme and the context for their implementation. This is followed by a discussion of the research methodology for the report, with evidence provided by the different project evaluations. Finally, we outline the key actions, especially relating to managing risks, that can help make outdoor learning sustainable in schools.
