This chapter examines the primary obstacles to scaling floating wind energy, including technological, economic, regulatory, social, and infrastructural barriers, and how these challenges differ by region due to variations in market maturity, regulatory frameworks, and geographic conditions. In Europe, key issues include supply chain limitations and grid integration. Asia contends with deep-water deployment and resilience to typhoons, while the Americas face regulatory complexities and financing challenges.
