Setting the Scene: Heritage Tourism in Vietnam and Asia
摘要
Cultural heritage abounds in contemporary life, with visiting sites of historic and cultural significance representing one popular activity among tourists and the wider public (Timothy, Cultural and Heritage Tourism: An Introduction, Channel View Publications, Bristol, 2020). Most countries worldwide are engaged in cultural heritage tourism processes. Understandably so, as these processes can generate substantial and much-needed revenues for national economies; disseminate political ideologies; promote national goals and objectives; influence public opinions; and shape positive destination images and identities (Rice, The Politics of Tourism in 20th Century Peru, The University of North Carolina Press, Chapel Hill, NC, 2018).
