The study aimed to explore different groups’ visual evaluation of APP icons in music games. In the first stage, 10 professional video game players deleted 140 adjectives, and then a questionnaire survey was conducted via the SD method. Four groups of visual intention descriptive vocabularies for video game icons, namely “unique and prominent”, “conflicting personality”, “leisure and pleasant”, and “smart texture”, emerged after factor analysis. In the second stage, 12 audiovisual icons were paired with 40 adjectives for questionnaire design and statistics. Evaluation scores of the 12 icons in four groups were obtained using triangular fuzzy number operations in fuzzy theory. The final results showed minor differences in “unique and prominent” and “personality conflict” and significant differences in “leisure, pleasure”, and “smart texture” for different types of music game APP icons. It indicated that different music game application icons had similar visual images and those with strong visual conflicts were commonly recognized in design and selection. Based on the results and data, enterprises and designers can consider the audience's different experiences in style, values, and visual design to improve the application download rate and user experience.
