Digital marketing is essential for enhancing sustainable tourism practices and effectively promoting them to a broader audience. This research aims to analyze the state of the art of digital marketing in sustainable tourism through a bibliometric study of publications in Web of Science and Scopus. 117 publications were obtained, of which 19 went on to the study, meeting the filtering criteria—duplicate files, full access, title, keywords including “digital marketing” AND “sustainable tourism” OR “digital marketing” AND “sustainable” AND “tourism” OR “internet marketing” AND “sustainable tourism” OR “internet marketing” AND “sustainable” AND “tourism” OR “online marketing” AND “sustainable tourism” OR “online marketing” AND “sustainable” AND “tourism”. The findings show that research has been strengthened since 2021, with an increase in the number of articles per year, with Portugal (n = 6) presenting the most significant number of scientific productions on the topic, followed by China (n = 5) and the USA (n = 5). The main topics are related to the dynamics of online travel communities, the use of digital marketing strategies to improve the performance of tourism businesses in the new normal era, the implementation of inbound marketing, and the impact of Internet technology on ecotourism marketing. As for the methods, the quantitative presents the most significant number (n = 9). This bibliometrics offers a complete perspective on the current state of digital marketing and sustainable tourism, allowing a deeper understanding of its evolution over the years. It also provides researchers with in-depth analysis and organized data to identify essential aspects and areas for further investigation.
