Relying on Traditional Sources of Information: Maybe Not a Problem for the Old Destinations!
摘要
Destination marketing organizations (DMOs) and private operators allocate significant resources, both financial and creative, to develop marketing strategies aimed at attracting diverse consumer segments, particularly from non-traditional markets. Given the constraints on financial and human resources, as well as the growing pressure on budgets, it is increasingly vital for stakeholders in the tourism sector to assess the effectiveness of various marketing approaches. This includes evaluating the return on investment (ROI) and gathering visitor feedback to inform improvements and prioritize future investments. This study investigates the impact of different information sources on key metrics, such as visitor satisfaction and expenditure, to determine the success of a portfolio of events. The findings offer important insights for optimizing marketing strategies and provide implications for future research in the field.
