In the tourism sector, people and their professional performance are fundamental elements for the good functioning of organizations. In this area, travel agencies and hotels are two types of organizations, with particular characteristics, where we can see that management, in general, and the management of their employees, is constantly subject to challenges. It was based on this business context, and this assumption, that an investigation was carried out into constructs that have already been identified as having a positive influence on organizational performance: PsyCap and self-leadership. The main objective was to study the relationship between PsyCap and self-leadership, in an area where studies are still considered scarce: Tourism. An analysis model was used that included several statistical techniques, namely: descriptive, exploratory and inferential. The questionnaire covered the territory of Portugal and collected data from a sample of 390 workers, 155 of whom were linked to the management of travel agencies, 235 to hotel management. The main results show that these workers present relatively high average values, both for PsyCap and self-leadership. Analysis of the relationship between these two variables shows that the relationship is positive and bidirectional. Self-leadership has a positive influence on the global PsyCap values and PsyCap revealed a positive influence on self-leadership.
