In response to the vacancy in the use of surface mount technology (SMT) mounter in the laboratory, we designed a miniaturized mounter that can be used daily from the aspects of system structure, motion control, and upper computer system, which can achieve precise mounting of small-scale circuits. The system structure consists of a high-speed linear sliding platform with a synchronous belt linear module and an XYZ three-axis gantry automatic spraying guide rail. It uses the CH32V307 development board and a large current adjustable fine-division 42-type stepper motor to achieve precise control of the mounter’s motion to ensure installation accuracy. Finally, through the upper computer of the mounter, we combine YOLOv8 [1] with traditional recognition methods to achieve position recognition and angle recognition algorithms, further improving installation accuracy. In practical applications, the SMT mounter is stable in operation and high in control precision, meets daily use requirements, and has a certain application value.
