Key Molecular Mechanisms That Facilitate Halotolerance in Cyanobacteria: Osmoprotectants in Cyanobacteria
摘要
Cyanobacteria accumulate osmoprotectants intracellularly to adjust osmotic pressure and adapt to salt stress environments. It is known that the types of osmoprotectants biosynthesized by each cyanobacterial strain vary depending on the salt concentration of the growth environment. This chapter provides an overview of the biosynthetic pathways for each osmoprotectant in cyanobacteria and their regulatory mechanisms.
