Enhancing Compressive Strength of Aluminum Composite Through Stir Casting Technique with TiO2/BN Reinforcement
摘要
In this paper, aluminum 7050 with reinforcement TiO2/BN composites was synthesized by stir casting techniques. AA 7050 alloy reinforced with TiO2 (1 and 2 wt.%) and BN (0.5, 1, and 1.5 wt.%) composites for different six number of casting designated as S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, and S6. Microstructural examination and phases were characterized by FESEM coupled with EDS and XRD analysis. The FESEM analysis demonstrated that the reinforcement particles were consistently and uniformly distributed across the entire matrix. Hardness and compressive testing were performed to evaluate mechanical properties of developed composite. It is observed that mechanical properties increases with the incorporation of TiO2/BN particles and has a maximum value for S5 sample.
