IoT-Based Vehicle Emission Monitoring Using Firebase Sensor Data Integration with Google Map API
摘要
The environment is being polluted due to the emission of exhaust gases such as CO, Nox, and HC from different types of vehicles and it is necessary to monitor each vehicle that emits the exhaust gases. In order to monitor such exhaust gases, the research proposes an IoT-based Live-Vehicle Emission Monitoring using Firebase sensor data integration to Google Maps that quantifies and monitors vehicle emissions in real-time while delivering accurate location information. The MICS6814/MQ135/MQ7 gas sensor identifies hazardous pollutants including carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NOx), and hydrocarbons (HC), while the ESP32 microcontroller processes the data and updates it to the cloud. A comprehensive GPS module enables users to associate emissions with vehicle movement, providing critical insights into pollution hotspots and fleet efficiency. This technology is utilized in fleet management, regulatory compliance, and urban planning, allowing stakeholders to produce emission reports, forecast maintenance requirements, and execute targeted interventions.
