Wind power is a kind of important green power, which plays a significant role in improving energy structure, coping with climate change and enhancing national energy security. By the end of 2023, China's cumulative installed capacity of wind power is 441 million kW, ranking first in the world for 14 consecutive years. In 2023, China's annual power generation from wind power reached 885.9 billion kWh, accounting for 9.4% of the country's total power generation, as the third largest power source in China, second only to the power generation from thermal power and hydropower. China has the world's largest, most complete and competitive wind power industry chain and supply chain, with strong international competitiveness in wind power equipment manufacturing. Therefore, China has become a “frontrunner” in the development of global wind power technology. This paper introduces the current development of China's wind power industry, analyzes the problems and challenges faced, and finally looks forward to the further development of the industry and puts forward countermeasures.
