Eco-Rehabilitation of the City Park “Chaikovoye Lake” in Kazan, Russia
摘要
In 2022, Kazan embarked on a pioneering initiative to develop a therapeutic park adjacent to a hospital, addressing two key objectives: establishing a rehabilitation area with diverse functional sites and preserving the integrity of the surrounding lake ecosystem. This project not only contributed to the creation of a holistic recovery environment for patients but also fostered an inclusive space for local residents. The therapeutic park, designed with the cooperation of various government authorities and the local community, embodies a unique model of public–private partnership aimed at promoting health and well-being. The park’s accessibility has been widely praised by hospital patients, medical professionals, and local residents, providing a multifunctional area for relaxation, physical activities, and social interaction. Moreover, the project has had far-reaching positive impacts, ranging from improved community engagement and enhanced public health to bolstered environmental sustainability and increased local economic activity. The successful integration of nature with healthcare has set a benchmark for future urban development projects focused on human-centered design and ecosystem conservation. The initiative is related to SDGs 3, 6, 8, 9, 11, 14, and 17.
